Nutmeg Weimaraner Club Rescue Success Stories
This page is dedicated to our Rescue Success Stories - to those kind people who have opened their hearts and homes to needy Weimaraners - to those wonderful Weimaraner companions who have made their humans' lives so much fuller, and especially to those people who work tirelessly at finding good homes for the Weims who find themselves needing placement for all kinds of reasons, usually through no fault of their own.
One of the ways that Weims in need are moved around the country to prospective homes is through the Weimaraner Rescue Railroad. It is an amazing volunteer service which saves many dogs from horrible fates.
The Nutmeg Weimaraner Club does breed rescue in the state of Connecticut and some limited rescue in the adjoining states. Rescuers come from far and wide to offer open arms to the placements that we have, and huge assistance comes from a variety of dedicated volunteers. The Nutmeg club works closely with its sister club, Yankee Weimaraner Rescue, which is based in Massachusetts. We feature our available dogs on Petfinder.com , which has been an incredible tool in reaching a vast number of potential adopters, and our rescue committee does a tremendous job at matching potential adopters with the best possible fit for each dog - a difficult and demanding important task . We are currently working at trying to build a network of foster homes for Weims awaiting placement to permanent homes.
